I think the longer you're around, the more well connected you get to be, but eventually you reach some kind of equilibrium vaguely proportional to the quality of content you put up.

I switched hosting companies at the end of July, and my previous statistics were washed away in the switch.
Stats for the previous months were pretty similar to the August 2004 number.
